10 quotes of success

So what can you do? Below are 10 tips for achieving mega success before you graduate:

1. You’re failing if you’re not making enough mistakes. One thing successful people have in common is that they fail a lot. The average millionaire goes bankrupt more than once. Pursue your dreams and use failures as stepping stones. “Every adversity carries with it the seeds of a greater benefit.” – Napoleon Hill, Best-Selling Author, 'Think and Grow Rich: The Andrew Carnegie formula for money making'

2. If you don’t have skeptics, than you’re not thinking big enough. To be in the top .000000001% you cannot follow the road most taken. You must create your own. “If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.” – Albert Einstein

3. Never take a job for money. Like a business, we all have tangible and intangible assets. Intangible benefits to our brand, network, growth, and knowledge are more important than our salary or hourly wage when choosing a career. “If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.” — Benjamin Franklin

4. Good grades and test scores are risky. The opposite of good is great. By achieving our school system’s goals, we are set up to be good, but not great. We must create our own path in life. Like a business creates a business plan, individuals must create a life plan. “There is no correlation between high SAT scores, good grades, and money.” — Thomas Stanley, author, 'The Millionaire Mind'

5. Experience and knowledge can make you close-minded. By having experience of how things should be, we become close-minded to how they could be. Today’s youth, the first generation to grow up with the Internet, have access to and the ability to implement new opportunities that adults can not see. “Young people will dominate most of the twenty-first century.” — Don Tapscott, best-selling author, Growing Up Digital

6. If you are comfortable, than you’re obsolete. By being comfortable being uncomfortable, we create new possibilities in our lives that allow us to excel over others who refuse to change or grow. “Restlessness and discontent are the first necessities of progress.” — Thomas Edison

7. Don’t pursue backup plans. Because of fear of failure, many people pursue careers that are safe, but that they are not passionate about. By doing this they set themselves up to be average. Individuals who plan, prioritize, and pursue their vision are bound to succeed. “Most people live and die with their music unplayed. They never dare to try.” – Mary Kay Ash, founder, Mary Kay Cosmetics

8. Don’t always listen to your friends and family. While your friends and family may have the best intentions for you, their first reaction is often to shelter you from being hurt instead of encouraging you to take risks and pursue your dreams. “Be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best - night and day - to make you everybody else.” — E.E. Cummings, poet

9. Pursue Extreme Endeavors. Pursue unconventional, success activities that you friends only dream about such as; making a job in a company or your own business, taking time off from school, shadowing a role model, attending interesting and relevant seminars/conferences, and conducting informational interviews. “In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” — Coco Chanel

10. Plan, prioritize, and pursue your vision before you graduate. It is better to have a quarter-life crisis than a mid-life crisis. The decisions that you make now determine whether you have a life of success or distress. "The time is always right to do what is right.” — Martin Luther King

Ford Retires Mercon Spec

Ford Retires Mercon Spec
Ford Motor Company recently
announced the retirement of its
Mercon automatic transmission fluid
specification, opting to promote its
more stringent Mercon V specification.
According to Chintan Ved, Ford
lead development engineer for ATF,
although the company has recommended
Mercon V fluids for all its
vehicles for the past seven or eight
years, most Ford models continue to
be serviced with Mercon fluids in the
aftermarket. “All transmissions recommending
Mercon ATF can now be
serviced with Mercon V,” says Ved.
“Mercon V is a tighter specification,
requiring better anti-oxidation, antiwear
and anti-shudder properties from
service-fill ATFs. We are doing this
because we want to ensure our customers

SPONSORING IS THE KEY TO GROWTH

Here is an article written by a long time veteran in Amsoil, David and Carol Bell are part of my upline team and make a healthy 6 figure income. Was it easy? Was it fast? No.

When I first got involved in network marketing, or MLM, in 1979, I was intrigued with the concept of sponsoring. This is a factor in our business that makes it unique. It is possible for a person, a regular, normal, average, everyday person, to build an organization of thousands of people who are part of their network of customers and Dealers. This multiplies YOUR effort. These people are using and selling AMSOIL products and, as a result, are creating increased income for YOU! More than likely, this will take years to do, but the time goes by, no matter what, so why not do it!

If you sponsor someone, then there are two of YOU! You’ve expanded your ability by adding someone to your team. If that person sponsors someone, then there are three! This magic of multiplication can go on and on. There are no limits. No, you won’t run out of people to sponsor.

Let’s just speculate that there were 50,000 AMSOIL Dealers, and that number could be high or low. For sure there are less than 1,000 who really do much business. Assuming there are 300 million Americans, then only 2/10th of 1% are in AMSOIL. That means if you went out and talked to 100 people about AMSOIL, about 99 of them would say they never heard of it.  How many did you talk to today or yesterday? How many will you talk to tomorrow? Why not? You have nothing to lose.

It is easy to understand that if you sponsor 10 people, and they sponsor 10 people, and they sponsor 10 people, then you have 1,000 people. That sounds fine, even easy, simple, but for some reason it is easier to say than to do. I’ve been amazed for 26 years at how few Dealers ever get the first 10, much less the other 990. Why? Do you have your first 10 yet? When do you plan to get them?

The one sure fire thing you can control is what YOU do. If you sponsor, then you will be building your first level of Dealers or customers. If you can encourage or help your Dealers to sponsor other Dealers, it is good for them and good for you, too. We often will help a new Dealer sponsor someone else by doing all the paperwork for them. It is so easy to fill out a Dealer/PC application or a C/R Account application. It takes only a few minutes, and it is over.  It is a great investment in our business to help our Dealers grow, sponsor, and add people to their team and to ours, too.

I remember the first Dealer I signed up. This was my good friend, Jim Webb, the best man at our wedding. I really didn’t know much about AMSOIL at all, and, of course, Jim knew even less, but he was a good friend, a long time friend, and if I thought it was good, then that was good enough for him. The first Retail Account I signed up, Austin Datsun Repair, on North Lamar Blvd., in Austin, TX, in December of 1988, (boy was I “green”) also thought it sounded good, and somehow we got the paperwork done and all went well. That was 17 years ago! Today, it is easy to do!

A FEW TIPS ON SPONSORING:

  • Sponsoring someone or a business into AMSOIL is good for them and good for you.
  • Always be ready to sponsor by having the paperwork handy and talking about AMSOIL.
  • Become a consistent sponsoring champion by working at it every day, week and month.
  • Teach your Dealers how to sponsor and help them sponsor a few customers initially.
  • The very top money earners in AMSOIL are also the top in sponsoring.
  • If a Team Leader sponsors, then the Dealers in that team will sponsor, too.
  • By sponsoring, you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
  • Work on being listed in the Top Sponsoring category every month.

AMSOIL Smooths Out New Motorcycle Engine

Lloyd Blazs of North Vancouver, British Columbia,
Canada, found AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils and lubricants
solved his problems with a new motorcycle and
now he’s a lifelong user.
He recently bought a Honda Shadow VT750C motorcycle.
“Being new, things are tight, so when I had some
shifting problems and a clutch that was displaying excessive
grabbiness I did not think much of it,” Blazs said. “But
after a very respectable break in period went by, at just over
8,000 km (5,000 miles), everything was broken in and loosened
up. Yet I still had a clutch that would often grab resulting
in lurching or stalling the engine if I did not give it
enough gas to get the RPMs up to prevent stalling in stop
and go city rush hour driving.”
The clutch checked out to be properly adjusted. Another
problem was a loud clunking sound when he put the
motorcycle in gear. “Often I thought ‘this cannot be all that
good on the gears.’”
He was using conventional motorcycle oils through
this time and decided he’d check into synthetics.
Blazs researched synthetic motorcycle oils on the
Internet and found AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle
Oil seemed the best suited for his needs, he said.
“After putting a new filter on my bike I poured in
AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil and started it
up,” Blazs said. “Within about 15 minutes of riding I wasnoticing something was different with the engine. To my surprise,
the clutch was now smooth as silk when I was letting
it out. Gone was the sudden lurch from the clutch grabbing
when it was almost fully engaged. The loud gear-snapping
clunk became a soft clunk of going into gear.”
After about 2,000 km (1,250 miles) with AMSOIL
20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil all the “little annoyances
disappeared,” he said. “I have yet to experience a shifting
problem gearing down when sitting at a red light.”
Since then Blazs has changed over the rear drive units
to AMSOIL Synthetic 75W-90 Gear Lube.
”I am so pleased with the results that I have recommended
your oil to my friends with motorcycles and even
asked the shop where I have my bike serviced to stock
AMSOIL products as this is the only oil I wish to use from
here on in,” Blazs said.

Give me something to talk about

Lately frustrations have been running high with new dealers in my Team. Lack of customers, lack of income etc. I've resorted to asking them what exactly they expect, then asked them how they went about achieving what they expected. Not a single one of them has really done anything to attract new business and therefore increase those commission checks.

I said in a recent conversation that I get frustrated every single day. We all do, it's not that I get frustrated but it's what I do about it.

I have had some new customers make some really big ordered in the last few months. Things are looking better every single day. I am on tap to earn the next level in my company which is called Premier Direct Jobber. I had to basically increase my business 50% from the last level, which I had achieved last may.

So lets put all of our frustrations and worries aside and go out there and get some new customers, make a few sales and feel good about ourselves.

New AMSOIL Fogging OIl:

Engine Fogging Oil
Offers superior film retention, providing long-term protection against corrosion and dry starts, extending engine life and reducing operating expenses. Its aerosol spray formulation offers easy and clean applications, while reaching more components and offering better distribution than straight motor oil.

Two- and four-stroke recreational vehicles, hand held power equipment, small engines, construction and farm equipment are commonly operated seasonally or infrequently, then stored for long periods of time. During these periods of inactivity, and as a result of fluctuations in ambient temperatures, water vapor can form condensate within the engine. When this condensate comes into direct contact with steel and iron components, it forms surface corrosion on cylinder liners, piston rings, anti-friction bearings and steel/iron contact surfaces on rotational seals.

Long periods of storage can also dry out cylinders, often resulting in permanent damage when the equipment is taken out of storage and dry started. The severity of component distress resulting from extended storage varies, but it is usually not enough to result in immediate component failure. Often, equipment appears to function properly when put back into service, failing shortly thereafter as component distress increases with use. Because the failure doesn’t happen immediately, the equipment owner often does not suspect storage-related problems.

The industry is beginning to recognize the relationship between storage-related corrosion and premature engine failures and performance problems. Most two- and four-stroke motor oils are formulated to have an affinity to engine component surfaces, acting as a barrier that keeps condensate from contacting engine components and forming corrosion. However, the effectiveness of motor oil in this area diminishes with time.

Two common methods are used to extend protection of stored components. One method involves placing motor oil directly on internal engine components, usually by pouring one or two ounces of oil into the engine cylinders through the spark plug holes and manually rotating the engine to distribute the oil. The more effective, easier and cleaner method involves use of an aerosol fogging oil.

Because it can be applied through the engine intake or carburetor as it is running, a fogging oil reaches and protects more components than a straight motor oil. In addition, the aerosol nature of fogging oil offers a more complete distribution of the oil than the straight motor oil method, something especially beneficial in applications with horizontal cylinder orientation, such as outboard motors.

A survey of manufacturers in the affected market reveals all have maintenance guidelines for long-term storage of equipment. Forty-three percent indicated special maintenance is required if length of anticipated equipment inactivity exceeds 30 days, while 43 percent indicated a time period of 60 days and 14 percent indicated a time period of 90 days. All recommended the application of additional oil to the engine for long-term storage, and more than half suggested the use of a special fogging oil.

New AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil offers superior film retention, providing long-term protection against corrosion and dry starts, extending engine life and reducing operating expenses. Its aerosol spray formulation offers easy and clean applications, while reaching more components and offering better distribution than straight motor oil. AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil applications include, but are not limited to, motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATV’s, outboard motors, stern drive and inboard marine engines, personal watercraft, lawn equipment, chainsaws, snowblowers, portable generators, hand held power equipment, motor scooters, powered farm equipment, powered construction equipment, cars and trucks.

Most Differential Wear Occurs During the Break-in Period

Because differentials are not equipped with filters, break-in metals are suspended in the oil, causing increased wear as the particles mesh between the gears. Hauling heavy loads and towing heavy trailers adds additional stress to the differential during the break-in period and can cause premature differential damage or failure. Changing the gear lube after the break-in period (about 3,000 miles) is a low-cost maintenance investment that provides a significant payoff, including greatly reduced wear, extended differential gear and bearing life and protection for expensive vehicle investments.

AMSOIL vs. Harley Screamin' Eagle

The recent introduction of Screamin' Eagle® Synthetic Lubricant by Harley-Davidson® indicates the Motor Company has finally recognized the benefits of running synthetic motorcycle oil in their air-cooled engines. After years of advising dealers and customers to avoid using synthetic oils in their bikes, it's natural to wonder why the company is suddenly marketing one.
For the past 20 years, Harley-Davidson® has claimed its petroleum-based Genuine H-D Oil is best for the "unique requirements of Harley-Davidson® air-cooled V-twin engines." However, laboratory testing has consistently revealed that Genuine H-D Oil does not provide the best protection possible for Harley-Davidson® engines. In fact, Four-Ball Wear Tests show Harley- Davidson® 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil leaves a wear scar nearly 80 percent larger than that left by AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil.
Four-Ball Wear Test (ASTM D4172), 40kg pressure @ 150 degrees C, 1800 rpm for 1 hour duration April 2003 test results
The Four-Ball Wear Test is the industry's standard test method for measuring the wear preventive characteristics of a lubricant. Placed in a bath of the test lubricant, three fixed steel balls are put into contact with a fourth ball in rotating contact at preset test conditions. Lubricant wear protection properties are measured by comparing the average wear scars on the three fixed balls. The smaller the average wear scar, the better the protection.
One of the major benefits of running a synthetic motorcycle oil is its resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation, which inhibit the formation of sludge and deposits that contribute to increased wear. In the past, Harley-Davidson® has defended use of its Genuine H-D Oil by arguing that oil breakdown in extreme heat is a non-issue because extreme heat conditions are not normally faced by motorcycle engines, while the superior cold-temperature benefits of synthetics also don't apply to Harleys.
The fact is, engine oil in Harley-Davidson® motorcycles is subject to very high temperatures. Being air-cooled, Harley-Davidson® engines get especially hot while idling in traffic, commonly reaching temperatures up to 240 degrees Fahrenheit. As heat and oxidation increase, so does viscosity, adversely affecting the lubricating qualities of the oil and increasing wear.
The water, soot and acid byproducts of combustion also contribute to deposit formation. Harley-Davidson® has stressed the importance of regular oil changes in order to remove these contaminants. Of course, promoting regular oil changes is also a good way to promote using petroleum-based Genuine H-D Oil. High-quality synthetic oils formulated with high-performance additives effectively withstand such contaminants, allowing motorcyclists to safely extend drain intervals.
In support of their about-face and the introduction of a synthetic oil, Harley maintains that "the Motor Company has never supported the use of synthetic products in our vehicles because there has never been any test validations completed on the numerous formulations in HD/Buell motorcycles. This product has been exclusively designed for Harley-Davidson® and is the only synthetic product TESTED and CERTIFIED by Harley-Davidson® engineering for use in HD/Buell motorcycles.
"Although this is necessary marketing hype, Harley-Davidson® V-twin air-cooled engines are not unique in their lubrication requirements and do not require a special Harley-only fluid. There is nothing about Screamin' Eagle® Synthetic Motorcycle Oil that sets it apart from, or makes it better than, many other synthetic motorcycle oil formulations, except that Harley-Davidson® is marketing it and directly profiting from the sales.
According to Harley-Davidson®, one of the unique benefits offered by Screamin' Eagle® Synthetic Motorcycle Oil is its versatility. For the first time the company is recommending an oil that can be used in the engines, primary chaincases and transmissions of most Harley-Davidson® motorcycles, including Evolution XL, Evolution 1340, Twin Cam 88 and 88B, Revolution and Buell models. This feature, however, is not unique. AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil may also be used in the engines, primary chaincases and transmissions of these applications, providing superior lubricating protection in each component.
How does Screamin' Eagle® Synthetic Motorcycle Oil measure up to AMSOIL in wear protection? Four-Ball Wear Test results indicate that AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil still provides the best protection possible for motorcycles. In fact, Screamin' Eagle® Synthetic Motorcycle Oil leaves a wear scar nearly 80 percent larger than AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil.
Not only does AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil offer greater wear protection than Screamin' Eagle® Synthetic Motorcycle Oil, it also delivers greater value. Suggested retail price of Screamin' Eagle® is nearly $2 a quart higher than AMSOIL 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil. And because AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil may be used for extended drain intervals of up to twice the manufacturer's suggested interval, while Screamin' Eagle® is recommended for standard drain intervals, AMSOIL customers realize additional savings.
Harley-Davidson® claims Screamin' Eagle® Synthetic Motorcycle Oil has been "exclusively designed" for use in their motorcycles, pointing to extensive bench testing and over 230,000 miles of durability testing to back it up. AMSOIL INC. has 30 years of experience providing superior lubricating protection for all brands of motorcycles, and AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oils have been tested in millions of over-the-road miles. Testimonials from countless motorcyclists further demonstrate the superiority of AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oils.
Formulated with top-of-the-line synthetic base stocks and high-temperature deposit control additives, AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oils provide superior protection and performance for motorcycles in all operating conditions. AMSOIL Motorcycle Oils effectively withstand oxidation and thermal degradation, keep wear to an absolute minimum, hold contaminants in suspension and keep engines running cool and clean.
