Amway India Sales
Amway India, the country's leading direct selling company, has pegged its revenues at Rs 738 crore in 2005-06, as compared to Rs 633 crore in the previous year, officials said.
"This represents a robust 17 per cent growth and we believe that the Rs 1,000 crore milestone is just around the corner," Sanker Parmeswaran, Director (corporation and legal affairs) Amway, told reporters here.
Parmeswaran attributed the growth to the top-class quality of Amway's products as well as the consumers' confidence in the brand.
Amway India, Associate Vice President, Sandip Mishra said that the business is driven by 45,000 active distributors providing them an income earning opportunity.
"The company contributed more than Rs 175 crore to the Government exchequer in 2006, by way of direct and indirect taxes and duties," Mishra said.
I'm not surprised to see that Amway is doing so well in India. India seems to be a burgeoning place for many different markets right now. Selling products there would give anyone insurance for success.
