Amway
India, the country's leading direct selling company, has pegged its
revenues at Rs 738 crore in 2005-06, as compared to Rs 633 crore in the
previous year, officials said.
"This represents a robust 17 per cent
growth and we believe that the Rs 1,000 crore milestone is just around
the corner," Sanker Parmeswaran, Director (corporation and legal
affairs) Amway, told reporters here.
Parmeswaran attributed the growth to
the top-class quality of Amway's products as well as the consumers'
confidence in the brand.
Amway India, Associate Vice President,
Sandip Mishra said that the business is driven by 45,000 active
distributors providing them an income earning opportunity.
"The company contributed more than Rs
175 crore to the Government exchequer in 2006, by way of direct and
indirect taxes and duties," Mishra said.
