The so-called "instant manicure" takes only five minutes, will never smudge and costs less than $5. It is not press-on nails, but rather, a press-on polish, sold by Avon.
"It's a base coat, two coats of color and a top coat that has been heat-treated and fused together into one layer. It's already cut out to the shape of a nail, so you simply apply it onto the nail bed," Avon representative Rhonda Henderson said.
Henderson said the application dries on contact and lasts up to two weeks, and that the excess peels off the skin, leaving no marks.
Arlington nail technician Tanya Hurst tried the instant manicure.
"You don't have to worry about cleaning up because it comes right off the skin," she said. "Quick, easy -- you could do this in rush hour traffic.
"An instant manicure application takes five minutes, costs $4.99 per set and comes in 10 colors.
"There's no messing up your nails anymore. The problem is solved," Henderson said.
