The Pink Truth?
What a joke.
The owner of the Pink Truth web site has threatened me with legal action for this post, (which is now removed but I am sure can be found in cache somewhere).
If the owner of the web site is the same person that answers the email at pinktruth@gmail.com, she also called me a whore when I offered to help promote the site through the MLM Blog Network.
Unbelievable.
For more information on the Pink Truth, check out this post at On The Road With Dave.

Guess you didn't read that we recently moved to a new URL.

Huh?
Are saying that your site has actually had "hundreds of thousands" of unique visitors?
Posted by: Ty | November 21, 2006 at 09:05 AM
Hey Ty,
I'm not sure what it was that the ladies at Pink Truth found actionable in your entry, after all they are all anonymous so it wasn't like you insulted real people. ;)
I guess the MK director they called a "Liar" in the post I cited, should have
thought about callling her attorney.
Anyway, sorry you had to pull your posts here at MLM Blog.

mmm, sorry I missed the post but from the above I guess it had something to do with my reaction, and thought to write a post about it, the first time I saw the press release - 4000 visitors a day! I suspect pinktruth is stretching the truth a little.

Sounds like you guys are jealous because you don't have as much traffic.
Posted by: me | November 23, 2006 at 06:12 PM
The 3 month Alexa traffic ranking for this site is: 131,765 and one week is: 96,717
The Alexa traffic ranking for Pink Truth is: 689,716 and one week is: 147,763
Yet, the owner of Pink Truth threatened to sue me when I questioned the information in her press release.
Posted by: Ty | November 24, 2006 at 09:54 AM
yes "me", we're terrible jealous of traffic that doesn't exist.
Let's be generous, maybe she doesn't understand the difference between "hits" and "visitors"?

Pink Truth, a/k/a Tracy Coenen, is stretching the truth A LOT. Ask her (it would have to be under oath to get a truthful answer and maybe not even then) how long she was in Mary Kay. What level did she achieve? How much was her production each month? In other words, was she successful and THEN decided to "step down" or is she convinced it is a bad company because she did not succeed? I think we all know the answer to that. In addition, her other company has a fake office in Chicago. I happen to know the people who are really in the office suite she says is hers on her company website.
And just who are the clients of Sequence, Inc.? Looks like all she does is presentations. Methinks her goal with this pink truth blog is to build her resume for the other "job" (term used loosely) she has. And she doesn't care who she steps on or how many lies she has to tell to do it.
And by the way, anyone can become a member of the board of advisors for pyramidschemealert. All you have to do is fill out an application.

Ty - I think you ought be very careful in your distortion of the facts. You didn't "offer to help promote" my site, you really offered to get some Google ad revenue for yourself. I don't wish to be associated with people who promote MLM's, plain and simple. As to the stats: You didn't "question" the stats. You knowingly published incomplete, and therefore incorrect information. As for all other speculation about my career, and resume, and affiliations... there's really no need to respond because the MK rep who posted her comments has no idea what she's talking about.
Posted by: Tracy | November 25, 2006 at 08:08 PM
Wow, Tracy jumped right in there to...what? Defend herself? Nope. Just defer the attention elsewhere, a tactic used often by those who lie. Okay, I will question the stats. "Hundreds of thousands"? Get real. As for not knowing what I am talking about...ah, you would be surprised just how much I do know. Let's hear your story. I noticed it is NOT listed on the "About" page of your blog. There is glaringly NOTHING beside your screen name. What is your personal experience with Mary Kay? And about that fake office....why would a legitimate office have a cell phone listed as the contact number? And why would a legitimate office have another company's name over the door? You may feel "there is no need to respond" but others might be curious as to just how "truthful" you are.
Posted by: See Beyond | November 26, 2006 at 08:07 AM
There is more than one "MK rep" who sees the descrepencies to Tracy Coenen's claims and sees through the pinktruth. Here's a question; how does Tracy get her hands on written communications that are between Mary Kay, Inc. and it's National Sales Directors? How does Tracy get information about various Sales Directors and National Sales Directors from their password protected web sites?
Posted by: I, too, "See Beyond" | November 27, 2006 at 09:39 AM
Aside from having people violate their own confidentiality agreements with their directors and nationals, I'm not sure. But it surely does tell the type of people that she hangs out with and who participate in her blog, doesn't it? They all talk 24/7 about how terrible Mary Kay corporate and its representatives are, yet they lie, steal and cheat as well. I know several ladies who work for directors and/or nationals and have access to their passwords for unitnet and the Mary Kay site. Apparently some of these admins are not very ethical and pass on this information to Tracy for her use on the blog. She apparently is not very ethical and accepts and encourages this type of behavior.
Or perhaps her "fraud investigating" skills are being used to hack into websites.

I thought they were "MaryKaySucks"...
Posted by: Ty | December 03, 2006 at 09:18 AM
Pink Cadillac was a different blog. Tracy started the sucks blog.
Ty, I'm curious. How can you be threatened with a lawsuit when posting your opinion on site traffic, yet they can tell lies about people and opportunities 24/7 and get away with it?
Is it just because no one has called them on the lies?
Posted by: See Beyond3 | December 03, 2006 at 02:51 PM
The Pink Cadillac blog was shut down by the owner but not before Mary Kay Sucks inherited the traffic. Mary Kay owns the domain www.marykaysucks.com so Tracy had to change her blog name.
Both Pink Truth and Pink Lighthouse have "preserved" the Pink Cadillac blog.

Okay, seriously, besides knowing first-hand that Tracy Coenen is all the horrible things people here and other places say she is, I have to ask this question:
Who the heck thinks they're actually going to make a bunch of money with Mary Kay, or anything similar? Really, I may not be a Certified Fraud Examiner, but I know my butt from a hole in the ground. I know to look on ANY business opportunity that involves a network, etc., with more than a healthy dose of skepticism. Kind of, I thought, people got into this stuff - Mary Kay, Tupperware, Avon, Pampered Chef, whatever, hoping to sell enough to earn free products, and anything more is a bonus.
Does Tracy Coenen think this rampage against Mary Kay - a company that's already a joke among most right-thinking people - is going to do anything positive for her reputation or forensic accounting business? Does she think this will cast her as anything other than a fool?
Or has she just gone completely insane?

PT is a great blog for info that the company gives only to directors. That is what drew me to the site. But shortly after, I grew tired of the bitterness. If you are out of MK, then get over it. By letting it bother you so much, you are letting the past run your life.
P.S. She only allows the extreme negative side, say anything positive, and you are *poofed*. To me the truth involves good and bad.
Posted by: MK Rules | January 02, 2007 at 09:17 PM
i agree with mk rules. It seems to me to be the rantings of a very bitter, egocentric, obssevily angrey person. I do however believe all of the horror stories posted in pink truth, but I also know that for all the hundreds or thousands of women who have had bad experiences, there are the same number of women who have had great experiences to speak of. You will never hear about those on pink truth. To me it is the same in every business opportunity whether is is classified as MLM on not. Every business opp is a risk, you could loose your money or you could retire rich or somewhere in between. The experiences of the former consultants at pink truth dont have to be everyone's experience. I was horrified after reading pink truth postings because i could'nt see the points they were trying to make because I was blinded by their bitterness and hatred for anybody willing to at least have an open mind. The thing that robs them of credibility is their personal attacks and condesending conversation toward people who chose to sell Mary Kay. Calling people names and insulting their character is always a tactic of those who really dont have anything reputable to stand on or say. Its nothing more than a distraction. I would be more apt to listen if both sides were shown of the Mary Kay business. They say that they are trying to give people the facts but they are only interested in redemption and revenge. And when you allow the emotions of bitterness and anger and revenge to rule you, then you cant move on. So my advice to Pink Truth is move on or at least tell the whole truth. Giving people the facts would involve telling about the good and the bad and then letting people make up their minds. But they wont tell about the success stories and they do exist, and not just for those who started Mary Kay years ago. Plenty people are in business for themselves in other ventures and at times struggle to keep their business alfoat, but they keep going, if they decide that it is worth it they continue, if they dont they quit and do something else. The stance that pink truth has taken is boardering lunatic status due to the obssesive nature of it. It seems that her whole life is still dedicated to Mary Kay in some way. She says that she is over Mary Kay and has moved on with her life, but if that is true then the site would not exist. The only thing that pink truth has done for me is make me want to work my Mary Kay business harder. If I make it then great, If I dont then great as well, on to the next adventure as far as I am concerned. But you wont hear me bitchin and moaning about it on an internet blog.

Tracy Coenen is a (edited) plain and simple. Believe me, I've dealt with her AND she's a liar.
Posted by: TracyHater | January 07, 2007 at 01:20 PM
Tracy's website pinktruth, in my opion, is nothing but the truth. How does she sleep at night trying to hurt so many people in Mary Kay? What does she have against successful people? If she were really trying to examine the truth, she would allow the truth to be posted and stop hurting innocent people. She has really crossed the line and it seems that she will post anything as long as it is negative. Whether she believes MK is MLM or not, the people she slanders are real people. Why does she want to hurt so many people? I find nothing true or good on her website!

No matter what Tracy's thoughts were in starting the blog, her background and position in Mary Kay or future propensity as an entrepreneur- I for one have gained a great deal of insights from Pink Truth. Those who say the info isn't true haven't been a part of the company. I was a Pink Car Driving Director, with the company for over 12 years so I believe I am a reliable witness to the goings on of Mary Kay Cosmetics. I worked in over 6 areas in the country and helped women up their ladder of success.
I have found nothing but truth and real ife stories on this blog. I only wish it had been in existence when I chose to make my exit from it once I discovered how it led to the financial ruin of more women than I could count. When I realized I was a part of that system, I knew I had to get out and I have never regretted that decision. The money is a myth for 90% of the sales force and it is all built on credit card debt that is contributed to by the hype and frenzy that the Corporate Culture contains.
Don't condemn it without knowing the facts or stepping into a Dirctor's suit like so many of us have. It is Truth and it is factual. Addictive -Controlling organizations from this to
religious organizations always say that those who leave were
either failures or rebellious. I have 2 college degrees yet I fell for their strong sales tactics that target women's vulnerable
areas --mixing career with family. I am sorry to say I contributed to the downfall of many a woman's financial situation by being a part of MK. Come over and read through the entire site in one weekend--esp. the directors stories. They are most accurate and from the heart from a 12 year veteran.

If Pink Truth is all about the Truth, why don't they reveal their true visitor statistics?
A press release claimed that the site was getting hundreds of thousands of visitors and evidence suggests otherwise.
Posted by: Ty | January 12, 2007 at 08:56 AM
Tracy has many problems and is feeding her own selfish ego with her blah, blah, blog. I know plenty of people, not making TONS of money in MK, but indeed making a nice living. So what.
I wish Tracy would devote this kind of energy and hours to something that would really help society, like hunting down child pornograher rings and exposing THEM. Now, honey, that would be a worthy cause.
Posted by: sickuvit | January 12, 2007 at 10:49 AM
I seriously doubt you know people making a nice living in Mk.
Now they may appear like they do --in fact we were taught how
to look like we were living large. The absolute bottom line is
the debt to payment ratio. You can't imagine it but many women
have 10,000-30,000 of unsecured credit card debt with MK and it is only growing larger. Why do you think there is so much being sold on EBAY these days? That inventory has to go somewhere besides piling up in basements and garages. Its hard to understand this
world unless you've been a part of it.
So no matter what people tell you, or how they look like they are doing it can all be for show. When I had a change of heart about helping to get women in debt I decided to do things right and truly help the women I worked with. We decided to order on cash only and actually sell the product for over 3 years. You have no idea the hiding that goes on esp. w/ their spouses. It took a great deal of trust and my own strong confessions about my own debt that was at $11,000 myself to even get them to open up and tell me. The #1 problem is they hid it even from themselves and felt deeply like failures. Then at Director Retreats and our Seminar Director friends would confess -only very privately -about the debt loads they carried and how hard it was to act like they were wealthy all the time because you are taught to "Fake it till you Make it.'
So please don't think you even know what kind of a living they are truly making for the real truth is even the consultants and directors don't know what they are actually making and when they do the next step is to admit it is not working and hasn't for a long long time if ever. It is usually a tax consultant who makes us come to our senses because the numbers do not lie.
The expenses and overhead are so incredible that no one understands but those on the inside. Truth is hard to swallow isn't it -- but this is all very real.
