Can Robert Fitzpatrick Get Any More Ridiculous?

I just read an article about USANA where noted anti-mlm zealot, Robert Fitzpatrick had a couple of quotes:

According to Robert L. FitzPatrick, founder and president of Pyramid Scheme Alert: “To obscure their dismal numbers, some MLMs classify their distributors as "active" and "inactive." The Active group includes only recent participants and those still buying products or receiving rebates. Payout and retention statistics are then disclosed only on the "active" group.

Unknown, too, is how many of the Associates are—in actuality—Preferred Customers: in other words, what percent of goods purchased by the Associates are truly sold to ‘non-distributor’ customers? MLM are legal forms of business only under certain rigid conditions set forth by the FTC and state Attorneys General. Mr. FitzPatrick alleges, “

So Fitzpatrick thinks that MLM's obscure reality by using active associate numbers when releasing data. That would be like me saying that exercise doesn't help in weight loss because I joined a gym, never went back, but didn't lose any weight. Stupid.

A lot of people join Network Marketing companies and never do anything to build their business. They never talk to anyone and they never attempt to sell a product. The don't network and they don't market. They might be good people, but they are not representative of someone that really puts effort into building a profitable business, in fact the "active" statistics quoted by most companies are not representative either.
