The Marketer's Manifesto

Merry Christmas 2008

Just want to wish you a very Merry Christmas.  Watch this space in January for a cool new site design and (near) daily updates.

Enjoy this holiday with your family and remember in the hustle and bustle of presents and feasts, the reason we are celebrating:

Jesus_birth_smallMary and her husband-to-be, Joseph, lived in a town called Nazareth. But they had to travel to the city of Bethlehem to register for a census ordered by the Roman emperor, Caesar Augustus. Both Nazareth and Bethlehem are in the country now called Israel. It is about 65 miles (105 km) from Nazareth to Bethlehem, and the trip probably took them several days.

When Joseph and Mary got to Bethlehem, there was no place for them to stay because the inn was already full. They ended up spending the night in a stable, a place where animals were kept. There was probably fresh hay on the floor that they used for beds.

That night, Jesus was born. There was no crib, so they laid baby Jesus in a manger, a feeding trough for animals.

Memorial Day - 2008

Memorial Day

Words are even more feeble on this Memorial Day, for the sight before us is that of a strong and good nation that stands in silence and remembers those who were loved and who, in return, loved their countrymen enough to die for them.

Yet, we must try to honor them -- not for their sakes alone, but for our own. And if words cannot repay the debt we owe these men, surely with our actions we must strive to keep faith with them and with the vision that led them to battle and to final sacrifice.

Be Strong - Follow Up

A couple of close friends contacted me about my Be Strong Sunday Scripture posting.

They wanted to know if I was O.K.

When your friends assume that something is wrong because you post a verse from the Bible, that's bad and funny. These friends know that I am a Christian so you wouldn't think that a Bible verse would be that far fetched.

I called one of them back and said, "Can't a brother blog some scripture on a Sunday?"

And, we laughed.

Anyways, the verse was printed on the back page of Joe Magee's memorial service hand out. It was one of his favorites. I thought it was a good verse and wanted to share it with you.

Joe Magee

Joemagee My friend that passed away on Wednesday was former Quixtar/Amway Emerald in World Wide Dreambuilders and current Univera LifeSciences Diamond, Joe Magee.

Joe was a winner and uplifter in every area of his life and he was like an older brother to me in Univera, giving me ideas and encouragement.

Joe's enthusiasm and infectious laugh touched thousands and he was well on his way to reaching the highest level (Blue Diamond) in Univera.

God bless you, Joe Magee. You will be missed.

Joe was 43 years old and apparently died of a head injury as a result of a fall. He was in incredible shape.

A Good Friend Will Be Missed

A good friend of mine passed away yesterday. He fell while helping his mother move and hit his head. He insisted he was fine and when his wife returned home, she found him passed away.

He was 43 years old and in great shape.

I will post more later.

Texas, Cows and Starbucks

I got into Dallas, Texas today for a couple of Univera meetings and stopped by a Starbucks to check my email. As I looked out the window, I saw cows and horses, literally 100 feet from the Starbucks. That is pretty much a first for me...a cow standing a rocks throw from the front door of Starbucks.

It's pretty cool, really. Dallas is a big city so it's not like I am in the middle of nowhere.

I will be in Dallas until Friday afternoon. If you are a blog reader and would like to meet me, feel free to email me at ty (at) tribble.org. I make it a habit of buying coffee for any and all blog readers that look me up when I hit a city.

What Do You Value?

Ann Michael has a great blog on change. If I wanted to deal with and/or make some changes in my life, I might spend a few hours reading Ann's blog. Here is a recent post:
