Energy Bill failed then stripped and passed

Wow! They killed the bill yesterday then Sen. Reid supplied a stripped down version that was passed!
What did he strip?
The renewable energy parts!
The part about making utilities produce a certain percentage of renewable energy by a certain year definitely put a halt to it!
The big bummer is that along with the utility deal it included the tax credits for home-owners!
The solar and wind industries have been gaining a lot of momentum in the last few years because of the tax credits. Now the solar and wind industries may suffer!
It just doesn't make sense to me!
On a positive note the fuel efficiency standards of 35 mpg for passenger cars was still included on the stripped down bill.
let's all hope that the renewables will be attached to another bill in the future.
