Mad Money's Cramer Rates Herbalife a Buy

"I stand corrected on Herbalife (HLF - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr - Rating)," Jim Cramer told viewers of his "Mad Money" TV show Tuesday. "It is a buy."

Cramer said he had been negative on the stock because he assumed it was just another nutrition-supplement player and multilevel marketer, no better than Usana Health Sciences (USNA - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr - Rating). "But I was wrong," he said.

Herbalife Opens Distribution Center in Phoenix

Herbalife Ltd. has opened a 5,800 square foot sales and distribution center in Phoenix, Ariz. that is capable of handling more than 500 orders daily, the company said Thursday.It is the fourth Herbalife center in the U.S., the others are located in Dallas, Memphis and Carson. The Memphis and Carson locations are also distribution hubs.

Herbalife Sponsors Finland Hockey

Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF), a global nutrition direct-selling company, announced a three year sponsorship deal with the Finnish Ice Hockey Association (FIHA), designating Herbalife as the official nutrition partner of the league. It is the first major sponsorship agreement of its kind for Herbalife in Finland.

The agreement covers the national team as well as the women's and junior teams, and provides opportunities for branding, hospitality, PR, sampling and the senior and junior teams all currently rank in the top five national ice hockey teams worldwide. As part of the deal, Herbalife will be providing product and nutritional training to each of the players from all three teams.

Herbalife Announces New VP of Human Resources

Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF) announced the appointment of Jean Marie Cacciatore as vice president of human resources for the company’s South America and Southeast Asia (SAM/SEA) region. She will be based in the company’s offices in Torrance, Calif., and report to Rob Levy, the region’s senior vice president and managing director.

Cacciatore will be responsible for human resource programs for the region’s employees who are based in 16 locations, including the U.S. Additionally, Cacciatore will be responsible for real estate planning for the region.

Herbalife Has New Korean General Manager

Herbalife Ltd. has appointed Young Hee Chung as the new general manager of Korea, the company said Tuesday.

Chung is the first female to serve in this capacity in Korea and has worked with Herbalife since it first began doing business in Korea in 1996. She has been senior manager of distributor relations and sales, and senior manager for sales and marketing since 2000. She holds a B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota and completed classes in a master's program at the City University of New York's Baruch Graduate School of Business.

Herbalife Ltd. said Wednesday that it would move its U.S. headquarters to downtown Los Angeles from Century City in 2008, giving a boost to downtown and the L.A. Live project.

Brian Bower, independent distributor for Herbalife products, said the tablet is ideal for just about anyone looking to improve their health and lifestyle. “I’m selling nutrition to people,” he said.The tablets, as well as many of the other Herbalife products, were developed by a team of scientists in Los Angeles.

On the back of the orange package the first three ingredients listed are citric acid, natural orange flavor and corn syrup solids.

Although the ingredients in Liftoff have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, Bowers said taurine, ginseng, caffeine, ginkgo biloba and guarana are what gives you the energy and focus.

Herbalife Announces Sponsorship of Lacrosse's New L.A. Riptide

Herbalife Ltd. continues its presence on the sporting field with the sponsorship of The Los Angeles Riptide, southern California's newest professional sports franchise in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) league. The agreement is in alignment with the company's sponsorship strategy to associate with health and fitness and sports-related activities, giving its independent distributors face-to-face time with consumers.

The L.A. Riptide, owned and operated by AEG, starts its six-game home season June 3rd at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The Riptide is one of four expansion teams, in addition to teams from Chicago, Denver and San Francisco that will compete in the six-year old league's newly-created Western Division. They join the original six teams that now make up the Eastern Division from Baltimore, Boston, Long Island, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Rochester.

Depoe Bay residents awarded Herbalife trip

Jean and Kevin Culver, Depoe Bay residents and local Herbalife independent distributors, recently attended the company's 2006 Worldwide Cup vacation at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Culvers were eligible for the vacation package after qualifying for various awards. The package included hotel accommodations and an American Express gift card for airfare.

The Worldwide Cup vacation included a reception where independent distributors, such as the Culvers, were able to meet with their peers and discuss the latest Herbalife news and trends, as well as new business tactics and strategies.

In addition, Herbalife planned an evening luau, a ranch retreat that included horseback riding, volleyball and snorkeling and several other exciting events.

The Culvers are active independent Herbalife distributors and continue to offer the Depoe Bay community weight management advice, nutritional supplements and personal care products.
