So you want to know the secret....?

I was having a conversation with someone yesterday about the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people.  It was obvious that he was looking for some kind of "secret" or some kind of "magic dust" that would explain the difference.

And, in a way, there IS such a secret.  More than one, I suppose.  But, to me, the simplest and most basic "secret for success" is just this:  most people are not successful simply because they never DECIDED to be.

That's the secret:  making a decision.

"Oh, it has to be more than that," you might say.  And yes there are other subsequent factors that usually have to occur.  But they all occur AFTER you've made a decision.  And until you've made a decision, none of the rest of it matters.

Bob Proctor tells the story of President Kennedy's decision to put a man on the moon.  When he asked Werner Von Braun what it would take to build a rocket, put a man on the moon and bring him safely home, Braun's answer was direct and simple.  He answered, "The will to do it."

And President Kennedy announced to the world that -- before the end of the decade -- America would put a man on the moon and bring him home. 

It didn't matter that it had never been done in all the thousands of years of human history.
It didn't matter that the technology wasn't yet available.
It didn't matter that it would receive criticism.

And the objective was accomplished in Kennedy's mind the MOMENT he made the decision.

What about you?  What you have you decided?  If you're like most people, you probably haven't decided anything. 

You've got a list of wishes.
You've got a list of "shoulds".
You've got a list of "mights"
You've got a list of -- as my grandpa would've said -- oughtas.

But, you haven't made the DECISION to be successful.  And that's why you're not yet experiencing the life of freedom that you say you want.

Here's the good news:  you can DECIDE to be successful right now. In an instant.  And you can take subsequent steps that will ensure that the next six months can be dramatically different from the last six. You do NOT have to stay in your present situation.

So, what about it?  Are you going to DECIDE to be successful? You cannot avoid it.  You MUST make a decision right now on whether you're willing to be successful. 

Leaving this page and turning on the TV is STILL a decision.  It's just 'deciding not to decide'.  And that's the same as a 'no'.

What's the product really like (part two)

Note:  This is a review of our first Liberty conference that we attended after joining the company.  We've been to several others since then but I think this first review will give you an idea of what it was like for us.  Enjoy -- TR

In my last post, I outlined our thoughts about the home study course. But, you probably know that Liberty League International has a total of three products. The other two courses are actually live events that take place a total of four times a year. They are called the Liberty Conference and the Summit Conference.  You can get more information on them here.

The Liberty Conference is a 4-day event in an exotic locale that focuses on the principles taught and discussed in the Beyond Freedom Home Study Course.

The Summit Conference is a 5-day event in an even more prosperous location that teaches financial strategies that help you get your money working for you. (No tax-haven strategies are taught in this course.)

Soon after buying our Beyond Freedom course, we learned that the next Liberty conference was going to be taking place within a month in Cancun, Mexico. As soon as we discovered the quality of the product and the company, we knew that we wanted to attend a live event to see what it was like.

Two words: first class.

The Liberty event isn't your basic MLM conference in a Holiday Inn somewhere. It's not a deal where you show up at the Marriott in Orlando with a couple hundred people from your MLM company. And it's not company training or business-building information.

No, it's a first-class event held in an exotic location and features world-class speakers. Past speakers have included Randy Gage, Patrick Combs, Andy Andrews, Bob Proctor, Doug Weed, etc.

This particular event was held at the Moon Palace in Cancun which is a great resort no matter WHO is doing an event there. But, we arrived to find that the resort was decorated for Liberty League's arrival. LLI had arranged for VIP check-in so we didn't have to go to the lobby with the rest of the resort's guests. They'd basically created an entirely other layer of service and lifestyle on TOP of what the resort was offering.

The first session of the conference was evidence that this wasn't your typical "company convention" or "MLM event". The meeting room was approximately as wide as a football field and about half as deep.

The stage was in the center of the long wall and four massive TV screens were placed on the sides of the stage so that each of the 1,200 attendees would be able to see and hear everything. Everything was recorded and displayed by a film crew that included boom cameras, tripod cameras, and lots of guys running around with cameras on their shoulders.

The lineup for the event included Michael Losier, Andy Andrews and Bill Phillips. Michael Losier is the best-selling author of the book, The Law of Attraction. Andy Andrews is the best-selling author of The Traveler's Gift and The Lost Choice. A modern-day Will Rogers, he has done 4 command performances for four U.S. Presidents and does consulting for many multi-million dollar companies like Microsoft.

Bill Phillips is the multi- multi-millionaire philanthropist that founded Body For Life and the nutritional company EAS. Known around the world for his 12-week "Body For Life" challenge, Bill has also donated millions of dollars to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

I learned some "inside information" on how Bill Phillips got there. When Liberty League contacted him about speaking, he said that public speaking wasn't really what he did. He gets more than 300 event requests a year and turns almost all of them down.

But, when he learned what Liberty League's vision and product lineup was, he agreed to come. When LLI asked for his speaker's fee, he said, If you guys do what you say you do, I'll come speak for free. I'll simply ask that you write a check for to the Make-A-Wish foundation. My understanding is that it was for six-figures.

And that's what LLI did. Bill Phillips flew down, spoke for two hours, gave away 1,200 copies of his new book "Eating For Life" (about $50k worth of books) and stayed over for the black-tie event as well.

The Liberty Event was easily the best-organized, most professional and powerful live event I've attended. We've put together an online video that highlights many of the activities....but it's nothing compared to actually being there. You can watch the online video here.

What's the product really like?

I'll admit it:  I'm an information junkie. 

If there's a good book, tape set or other resource available that will tell me something I'm curious about or want to learn.....well, I've got the cash in my hand quicker than you can say the words "personal development".

And, I know the value of good information. 

About 18 months ago, I bought some information for $500 that allowed me to do well over six figures last year.....I'd say that's a pretty good trade. So, I'm well aware that there are lots of things I don't know -- that if I DID know them -- would make me alot of money.

So, when I first looked at the Beyond Freedom Home Study course and saw the $1,495 price tag, I wasn't overly concerned. In my thoughts, I figured that if there were one or two ideas in that course that would allow me to see results in my life....then $1,495 would be pretty cheap indeed.

But, I have to admit I was surprised at what was included in the course.  I'm a long-time customer of Nightingale-Conant and I'm used to home study courses that have a little 16-page book with some CDs and that's it.

So, when the big brown truck pulled up at our house, I was surprised by the size of the box. This was obviously not your basic home study course. Jessica got to it before I did and did the ol' I've got it and you don't, na-na-na-na-naa-na thing.  Finally, (after promises of dinners out and another cruise), she surrendered and we opened the thing.

DVD. CDs. Goal cards. Journaling System. 90-day Workbook with interactive exercises. All in a professional, luxurious packaging.

We popped in the DVD.  I was impressed.

Ever notice how most direct sales companies skimp on their audio/video stuff? Not Liberty League International. It was obvious that this DVD wasn't filmed with a camcorder and produced on a laptop. Heck, it looked like it came out of Hollywood (which turned out not to be far from the truth).

Everything was top notch and it was obvious that LLI had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars producing the audios, videos and printed materials.  (You can view some of these videos here.)

But, the real question was about the information. I was glad to see that the course wasn't full of alot of vague philosophy. It's very practical in terms of explaining that your present circumstances are an outward reflection of how you position your mindset. And it explains in nuts-and-bolts detail what you need to do in order to start attracting more of the things that you want in life and less of the things you don't want.

And it works like a spotlight: it will illuminate ANY area of your life that you apply it to: marriage, parenting, physical health, emotional health, spirituality, finances, debt-repayment, education, coaching, workplace issues, hobbies, ..... the list goes on and on. Because the course teaches you how to use your mind to your greatest advantage, it will literally impact every area of your life in a way that produces massive results.

And isn't that what I paid for?

The Beyond Freedom Home Study Course is a great example of a product that was under-promised and over-delivered. The only problem is that -- like any GREAT information -- it should probably sell for alot more and here's why:

At $1,495, I can see that there are probably a certain percentage of people who buy the course, take it out, put in a CD and never really commit to going through the program every day for 90 days. These are the same people who buy an exercise bike for $250, don't ride it and complain they're not losing weight.

If this course sold for $10,000 then I'm sure more people would give it the attention it deserves....

....and would be living the life they want.

More Prospects Than Time...

Did you see the movie "The Wedding Date"...?

On the way back from our vacation in Phoenix, Arizona last week, Delta Airlines was showing "The Wedding Date", a romantic comedy starring Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney.

In the movie, Kat (Messing) is flying to London to attend her sister's wedding where Kat's ex-fiance (who dumped her) is going to be the best man. To create the illusion that she's moved on with her life and is unaffected by the break-up, she hires an escort (Mulroney) to pretend to be her new fiance'. She found him by reading an interview of him in a magazine.

At one point in the movie, she's talking to Nick (played by Mulroney) about a comment in the interview that she didn't agree with.

She reads the section to him:

"You said (and I quote) , 'I believe every woman has the exact love life she wants...do you honestly believe that I want to be single and miserable? Do you think I want to be hung up on some guy who led me on for years and then -- out of the blue -- shattered my heart?

Nick replies, "First of all, there's no such thing as "out of the blue". And secondly.... yeah, I do."
She's incredulous. She yells "What??"

Nick says,

"When you're ready to let go, to be un-single and un-miserable....you will. Till then...." and walks away.

There's a HUGE lesson there that most people don't get. Even the ones who SAY they get it don't really get it. And you can tell they don't get it because they're not living it.

The basic lesson is very simple: you are where you are right now because that's exactly where you DECIDED to be.

Some people will argue that they didn't choose their present circumstances. Or that it's luck. Or "the breaks". Or they say they're on "part of a learning curve" or something. But the truth is that you can look at every area of your life: your marriage, your bank account, your relationship with others, your parenting, your physical health and the fact remains the same: you are where you are because that's where your opinions, beliefs, and decisions PUT you.

And you can change it at ANY time you want to. All it takes is making a new decision.

Again, most people miss this. They don't understand that it all starts with a DECISION. And most people wouldn't know a real decision if they met one. They have "shoulds" and "wishes". But they don't have "musts". They don't demand excellence in their life in the same way that they would demand oxygen if they were underwater. They settle for less than they deserve. And then they claim that it has nothing to do with them.

Let me give you a tip: the easiest way to become a multiple-six figure earner is to simply DECIDE to be one.

That's it. And if you're chasing prospects...trying to figure out how to pay for an autoship....struggling to find people to sign up in your business....enrolling only 1 or 2 people every now and then.......well, that's because you've decided to be that kind of marketer.

And when you really want to create a massive change in your financial life....when you REALLY want to have days where you earn $5,000 in a single day.....or can create "cash on demand" by working from a hotel balcony where you and your spouse are spending a mid-week vacation.....when you are finally ready to choose and experience prosperity in a way that will let you live a "life without limits"....

...then you will. It really is as simple as that.

Until then, you'll continue to get what you're getting.

The great part about life is that you can live, play and work on any rung of the ladder you want to. But it IS a choice that we all make.If you don't like where you are, change it. It all starts with making the DECISION.

Have you decided to stay where you are?  Or have you DECIDED to live the life you deserve? It IS a choice.  And the choice is YOURS.

Which is easier? $20 or $1,000?

I had a discussion with a great friend of mine this morning. He asked me if I'd be interested in marketing some software for him. (He owns the licensing rights). Unfortunately, even if I were looking for a product to market, I'd have to say no.

When he asked me why, I told him that there wasn't enough profit in it. I laughed and said, "If you were selling it for $3,000 and I were keeping a $2,000 profit, I might think about it." We both laughed.

But then I said something that sparked his attention. I said, "I've learned that it's actually just as easy -- sometimes EASIER -- to earn a few thousand in a day than it is to try to earn $20 in a day." He disagreed. He said "You earning $1,000 in a day is more unlikely than you earning $20 a day".

I didn't want to give him a knee-jerk response so I really stopped to think about what he was saying. He's a friend of mine so I worded my response carefully:

It's all about mindset. If you believe that it's not "likely" that you can make $1,000 in one day, that belief will automatically prevent you from getting involved in opportunities that can pay that.

It's an automatic process. Your reality will automatically line up in a way so that it can provide you proof with whatever you chose to believe.

The reverse is also true. If you believe that there are TONS of people who are lining up every day to buy a product that will put $1,000 in your pocket.....well, you'll probably find yourself getting involved in things that will make that a reality in your life.

I'm not sure he "got it".  But, maybe you will.

Everything I've learned about prosperity and abundance has confirmed that everything in your life is the way it is right now because of your current thinking.  Want to know what your "prosperity barometer" is like right now?  It's easy:  look at the results you're getting.

Want to know how you feel about money? Look in your wallet, purse or checking account. If you don't have lots of it, you probably have negative emotions about money or believe it's "hard to come by".

Want to know how you feel about love?  Look at your relationships.

Want to know how you feel about physical health?  Get on the scales.  Check your blood pressure.

Everything in your life is the way it is because of your absolute best thinking.  And, as Einstein said, "A problem cannot be solved with the same level of thinking that created it".

Making Money Is A Game...

I talk to dozens of people every week who all have one thing in common: they say they want to make more money than they do presently.

The degree to which I can help them hinges on ONE important concept. If they understand this concept, they can literally set any goal they want and start seeing MAGNIFICENT results in a relatively short amount of time.

And if they don't understand it...then their chances of success are much smaller, almost non-existent. They will likely stay at the same financial level they've been stuck in for years.

The concept is simple. And it's 100% true. To the extent that you understand it, you will prosper. To the extent you don't understand it, you will struggle.

Here it is:

  Someone who is earning $30,000 a year is thinking $30,000 thoughts.   
   Someone who is earning $1,000,000 a year is thinking million-dollar thoughts.

In other words, your life is an outward reflection of your inward thinking. If you want to change your life, the solution is simple: change your thinking.

Let me give you an example that you've probably experienced personally...

Have you ever been looking at cars and found one that you absolutely fell in love with? You'd never seen anything like it. You had to have it. So, you figured out a way to own it and bought it.

This happened to me with a midnight blue Mercedes. I'd never seen that particular color. I'd never seen one that looked so luxurious.

Well, guess what happened on the way home:  you guessed it!  I saw several of them!

What happened? Did everyone in town suddenly go out and buy the same car you did? No. It's called the "cell of recognition". I never had a cell in my brain that said 'midnight blue Mercedes'. I might have seen thousands of them but had never recognized it. As soon as I bought the car, they were everywhere!

Well, the same thing is true for earning money.

If you are thinking along the lines of earning $30,000 per year....then you will only recognize business opportunities that will pay you $30,000 a year and less. You'll look right over the ones that pay a million dollars a year....even if they require less time and effort than the ones that pay much less!

And here's the sad part: alot of people's thinking is stuck lower than their 'wants'. In other words, someone might say they 'want' $100,000 per year.....but, if their thinking is operating at the $30,000 level, they can only see and earn $30,000 per year.

You see, earning money is a game. It's a game of getting yourself into the right mindset. And when you learn to do this, you can set any goal you want and start working towards it today!

What level of thinking are you operating at?  And how soon can you get it adjusted?

Honey bees and Liberty League International

Some of you guys know that Jessica and I homeschool our two sons.

As part of biology class, Jessica had scheduled some time at the local agricultural extension office for the beekeepers to show the boys about honeybees and pollination. Word got around among some other homeschooling families and it wound up being a pretty big event. There were probably about 30 kids there.

And the agricultural office went "all-out". They set up different "stations" so that one group of kids could learn about, say, pollination and the bee life cycle....while another group of kids were extracting honey from the combs and tasting it.It was too cool.

But, the REALLY cool part was the quiet realization that I was the only dad there. We were sitting on some bleachers watching a guy sting himself for the kids' entertainment (!) and it occurred to me that -- of all the kids there -- Will and Pate were the only ones whose dad was able to come.

And that's the way it always is on these things. When we took our oldest son to the one-day baseball camp.....all moms. When we visited the natural science museum to show the boys the planetarium....same thing.

And my kids notice, too.  Every now and then, they'll ask, "Dad, why don't you go to a job like Austin's dad?" Or "Dad, it's cool that you always get to stay home all the time."

And here's my point.  Hidden in those phrases is the REAL reason I work from home: Jessica and I CHOSE to be the primary influence in our children's lives.

Not the school.
Not their friends.
Not their teacher.
Not a daycare center.
Not a babysitter.

The impact on their lives has already been remarkable. The kids love it. They're learning, growing and maturing in a wonderful, exciting way. It's easily the best decision we could have ever made for our family.

And, of course, there is a HUGE financial issue here, too. If I were working a job, I probably wouldn't be making 10% of the money I make. I'm psychologically unemployable! There's no way I could take a cut in pay to go take a job making $40,000.

And all that "runs off" on my kids. If I were strapped down to a job, what's the odds that my kids would get to travel to the Caribbean 2-3 times a year? Or fly first-class to a water park in Arizona for four days? Or spend a week in Whistler, British Columbia for some fun in the snow? It wouldn't happen.

Hey, my kids deserve it. Heck, I deserve it! And you do, too! And all it takes to start is making a simple decision. Find out more about Liberty League International today!

What's the support REALLY like?

Leaving a company where you've earned six-figures is not something to take lightly.

When we looked at Liberty League International, one of the big questions we had was: what is the company support like? Well, actually, my question was a little more like this: "Hey, I know that Liberty League is like most direct sales companies where most of the training and support is distributor-provided. So, how much extra training and support will I have to offer my team in order to make this thing work?"

My sponsor was confused. "Huh? You won't be doing ANY. It's all done for you by the company."

"Oh, come on," I said. "You mean that the company is actually providing all the support structure? If they are, it'll be the first time I've ever seen a company do it. Nearly every direct sales/MLM company I've ever been involved in had sub-standard training and support that I was required to implement my own system in order to get my team into profit. And you're saying Liberty League International is doing it all corporately? This I gotta see...."

So, here's what I did. I left everything I knew about prospecting and recruiting at the door. I committed to ONLY following the same system that the company teaches. I modeled my activities after what my enroller was doing.

And I was amazed.

In the time I've been involved in Liberty League International, I've not had to do any instruction. Any role-playing with my new associates. No script-training. No teaching how to prospect. No teaching how to follow-up. No teaching how to set appointments.

The company hosts a total of 25 live guest presentations each week that are completely interactive. So, all of my presentations are done for me. I don't explain anything to anyone. No more one-on-one presentations in coffee shops.

The company also provides a total of 13 live and interactive training calls for Associates. Everything is covered from "get started training" to "black belt marketing". It's all there in a nuts-and-bolts format with nothing held back.

Additionally, the company website provides all the prospect tracking, autoresponders, follow-up, presentation invites, etc.

It's all being done for me.

The result? I've got a higher percentage of people earning money in my organization than I've had in any other business. And I managed to receive a Rising Star Award for being a top producer in Liberty League International even though I'd only been with the company for 90 days. (See photo)

Bottom line: The system works. The training works. And the only people who don't succeed here are the ones who either don't do the work or who insist on reinventing the wheel.

Amazing. A company that actually offers 100% support so you never have to go elsewhere for instruction, training or tools.

What 86% of networkers REALLY want...

I ran across two interesting facts this week that make for an interesting side-by-side comparison.

Here's the first: John David Mann, the chief editor for Networking Times, the MLM industry's leading publication is quoted as saying "creating millionaires is not what [MLM] does best. What we do best is hundredaires and thousandaires."

Secondly, consider a 10-year survey conducted of more than 6,000 active home-based business entrepreneurs. The survey question asked, "What is the minimum you'd have to earn on a monthly basis to consider yourself successful"? A whopping 86% said that they'd need $6-10K per month. Another 8% said they would want to earn one million per year. Only 8% said they were interested in working part-time for a few hundred dollars per month.

This may explain a great deal of frustration with the MLM industry. There's a large disparity between what people earn and what they WANT to earn. Particularly when MLM generally requires a large organization of people in order to create a significant income.

This disparity has caused a great many people to opt for more profitable home businesses like Liberty League International where they can create an executive-level income within their first 90 days by following a proven system. And -- more importantly -- they can completely break even with only FOUR people instead of with dozens. (Do the math sometime on most MLM companies. You literally need 20-50 people in most companies just to cover your own monthly product purchases.)

All this begs the obvious question: if it takes the same amount of time and effort to recruit someone into a standard MLM program and earn a few dollars on a bottle of vitamins.....

......why not invest that same time and effort into a business that will pay you $1,000 for each person you sell a product to?

Why I Chose Liberty League International

I get several people who call me each week asking about the difference between Liberty League International and "those other companies". There are other companies who have a similar pay plan who offer discounted vacations. Others offer downloadable "products" only.

So, when we started looking at Liberty League, we naturally checked out their competitors. Or, rather, the companies that offered a similar pay plan.  (Liberty League International has no direct sales compeition on their product.  I'm not aware of any company producing a product remotely like theirs.)

In the end, we chose Liberty League deliberately.  Here are some of the reasons that we didn't go with the "other" companies offering similar pay plans.

I like that it's not being run from a foreign country.  I like the fact that Liberty League International is based in Scottsdale, Arizona and not an offshore country. I like the fact that the company is structured according to laws that protect the consumer.

I like that there's a real home office. A real customer service staff. A real phone number. A real building that you could actually walk into and see a receptionist who says, Welcome to Liberty League International...can I help you?  Whether you'd ever visit or not, it's nice to know that it's not being run out of someone's basement and presenting itself as grander than it really is.

I like that a customer orders their Beyond Freedom course and gets a big brown truck pulling up in their driveway with big box full of CDs, DVD, etc.  Not just a link in an email to go download an ebook. The product is tangible and has intrinsic value to the end consumer. It's not just a token product that's in place to allow people to move money around.

I like that the company stands behind its product with an unconditional money-back guarantee.  I like that a customer can evaluate the product and choose whether it's worth the purchase price.  They have plenty of time after receiving the product to determine its value in their life and to choose to keep it or request a 100% refund.

I like that the company provides a "no-guesswork" bluepint instead of leaving their reps to figure out the business on their own.  I like that they have 29 live guest presentations every week as well as 14 live training calls. I love that a person can join the business and actually see financial results in their first 48-72 hours. (As a sidenote, we do lots of training for lots of companies. I've never had an LLI client who called me requesting training on how to work the business. I have, however, trained several people in the vacation and ebook companies.)

I looked at the other companies. I didn't see what I saw at Liberty League International. Oh, I saw a 7-minute flash presentation.  I heard some good conference calls. But, those are easy to come by. Lots of companies have those.

But, when I got a plane and sat down with the founder of Liberty League International, I saw what I did NOT see in the other companies:  a true system where someone can build a large immediate income with a valuable product that people actually WANT....and a long-term income potential that's based on a company that's here to stay.
