Mary Kay Gives Woman Push To Open Her Own Shop

East Oregonian:

PENDLETON - Downtown Pendleton's Bags, Buckles and Bling sells just what its name suggests, along with quite a bit more.

Sunny Waggoner owns and runs the business at 151 S.E. First St. Her name is equally fitting as she comes across with an exuberant business attitude.

Bags, Buckles and Bling is her first retail venture, although she has eight years of experience selling Mary Kay cosmetics, including one as a director. It was contact through Mary Kay that prompted her to go all-in on the business.

"It's always been a dream of mine to own a little shop," she said. "I just love what I'm doing."

Pink Truth: Mary Kay Reps Raise Money for Family

A number of independent Mary Kay consultants have pledged to donate 100 percent of their proceeds from a cosmetic set to the family of slain officer Cpl. Nick Polizzotto.

Sales consultant Laura Vincent said she wanted to contribute to the Polizzotto fund after hearing about their son's death, so she organized the Mary Kay Satin Hands Pampering Set fundraiser.

South Bend Tribune:

The Satin Hands Pampering Set by Mary Kay Cosmetics sells for $30.00. To participate, residents can go to any First Source Bank and deposit $30 into the Polizzotto Family Fund, according to Vincent. Within a week consultants will contact and deliver the product to them.

The goal is to sell 1000 sets and provide a check for $15,000, she said.

For more information contact Erica Hunt at (574) 674-0553 or Laura Vincent at (574) 674-1564.

Women Trading in on Traditional for Mary Kay Cosmetics

Before finding her dream job, Kristen Marks was a practicing attorney. Emily Sims was vice president of a wireless company. Cari Pettit was a human resources manager. And Michele Larson was an administrative assistant.

The four Pensacola Bay Area women traded in their standard salaries, long hours and grueling workload for a job that they say is much more fun and rewarding: selling Mary Kay skin care and cosmetics.

And they have reaped the benefits -- more time at home with their children, no boss to report to and extras like vacations and vehicles.

Mary Kay Lady Caught Up in the Make-Up

I was the worst Mary Kay lady ever.

I got orders correct and gave each customer a free gift with their purchase, but believe me, I was bad. I would have never earned the pink Caddy. Heck, I would have never earned my junked 1987 Ford Escort. Why?

Two reasons: My heart wasn't in the sell, and I broke the first rule of beauty sales — I got high on my own supply.

I had a jones for Age-Fighting Moisturizer. I craved Private Spa Embrace Dreams. The bottles, vials and jars that filled my modest apartment called to me in my sleep. I wanted my normal-to-dry skin to be as smooth as baby cherry tomatoes. I wanted to reverse the signs of age, unclog my pores and revitalize my skin.

Suddenly I was addicted to cosmetics, and it was nothing like Robert Palmer's song Addicted to Love. It was more like the NWA song Dopeman.

"To be a dope man boy you must qualify," then NWA member Ice Cube sang. "Don't get high off your own supply."

Our hands are among the most essential parts of our body that we tend to take for granted most of the times. Our hands are most prone to stress because they literally do all that needs to be done. This gets noticed when you feel calluses on the palms and wrinkles at the back of the hand. Our hands can be the best asset we have if just take good care of it, even pamper it a little bit.

Mary Kay understands women’s need that’s why they have a new offering – the satin hands pampering set. If you love the scent of peach then you will also love the New Satin Hands Satin Smoothie Hand Scrub. Its lovely fresh peach scent is very pleasant and never irritating to the nose. This item works like an exfoliant that removes dead skin cells from your hands.

Mary Kay Has Come a Long Way Since 1963

Mary Kay Ash founded her cosmetics company in 1963 with only $ 5, 000, nine independent beauty consultants and a 500 sq. ft. store in Dallas. Last week, Mary Kay Inc. concluded its annual sales seminar in Big D. They had a $ 2. 2 billion sales year.Since 1969, the company has awarded thousands of special Cadillacs to its top sales people. Apparently, years ago, Mary Kay ordered a Cadillac for herself and told the car dealership she wanted it the same color as her compact — pink. Her vehicle was such a hit with her sales force, she began an incentive program for them with a pink Caddy as the big prize. Nowadays Mary Kay salespeople can earn three cars.Red Pontiac Vibes are entrylevel awards. Silver Pontiac Grand Prixs are the middle prize and the pink Cadillacs are the top awards. About 2, 000 women drive Cadillacs and 10, 000 more have received Pontiacs. A sales director and her team must sell at least $ 96, 000 in cosmetics in a sixmonth period for the director to qualify for the top award. Directors start out as salespeople and work their way up.

Finding Direct Selling to Be Beneficial

On just about any night of the week, you can bet there's a home party going on somewhere. During these parties, you can buy almost anything: from candles to food to cosmetics to tools.
