CHESTERFIELD, Mo., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Reliv Kalogris
Foundation, a charitable foundation operated by Reliv International, Inc., has
started providing free nutritional supplements to under-nourished children in
Mexico, said R. Scott Montgomery, president of the foundation and senior vice
president of worldwide operations for Reliv International.
Initially more than 800 children are receiving the free nutritional
supplements every day at locations outside of Mexico City, Monterey and
Chiapas, Mexico, Montgomery said.
Worldwide, the Reliv Foundation donates supplements that provide daily
nutrition to approximately 15,000 under-nourished children in eight countries,
including Mexico. The other countries are the United States, the Philippines,
Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Haiti and South Africa.
The children receive daily shakes made by combining two powdered formulas,
Reliv Now for Kids and Reliv Delight, with water. Reliv Now for Kids provides
the optimal level of nutrients for children, and Reliv Delight contains many
of the nutrients of milk, plus additional vitamins and minerals.
The Reliv Foundation is unusual in that it is funded almost entirely
through donations by Reliv's independent distributors. The foundation pays no
salaries and has no other overhead costs; all funds go directly to support
nutrition for children and others in need.
