The lies most often used in MLM
I hope that the title I used in this entry is not too negative - it sounds a little bit harsh, I know. Regardless, this article needs to be read, both by current MLM builders as well as those interested in understanding more about Network Marketing in general. It is called "The Lies of MLM" and is well and succinctly written by John Milton Fogg.
The basic premise of the article is that the practice of honesty in our business, Network Marketing, is paramount. Only by keeping our acts clean in the representation of our business opportunities to our prospective downline can we maintain full credibility in the marketplace.
As you read his article, perhaps you will reflect on your own past exposures to Multi-Level Marketing opportunities, and possibly the repetition of some of the lies exposed - items regarding the Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business School, Megatrends, et cetera. I know that in my own history back in the Amway days, many of these representations were made by the upline - Diamond Direct distributors on down - on tapes, in seminars and business opportunity plans. Whether this was innocent and ignorant repetition of what they themselves had heard or been told, or intentional fabrication, is not clear. Sometimes statements can be made and repeated so often that individuals take them at face value, as truth. And that's a shame, because there are enough legitimate reasons to start a Network Marketing business without having to resort to fabrications and mis-truths.
A solid Network Marketing business will never have to resort to fabrications and mis-truths in order to generate interest in what they have to offer. A truly good business will always stand on its own merits. Any individual or company that must lie in order to attract you to work with them cannot prosper - and I will commit to you that at NuroVital we will always measure our success through your success, with transparency, honesty and ethics as our cornerstone values.
"The truth is, there is so much that's positive to be shared about Network Marketing -- facts, not even opinion, much less lies. You may make a sale with a lie, but you won't create a customer, and you certainly won't build a successful Network of Distributors. What you'll make is a house built on get-rich-quick-sand." John Milton Fogg
The best insurance for building ANY sort of solid business model is to establish everything on the cornerstone of integrity. This applies to any business model, but especially in the case of network marketing, where so much of the interaction is face-to-face, mano-a-mano. Great advice!
