Silpada Designs Company Information

Silpada Jewelry is not available in stores and only available through independent representatives.

Apparently Silpada does not like it's reps to do much on the Internet. (Of course this site is not owned by a rep).

According to Best MLM Opportunities:

According to the Silpada Designs Corporate Web Policy active Independent Silpada Designs Representatives are prohibited from listing on a business directory or other Web site using the company’s trademarked terms, including, but not limited to, “SILPADA” and “SILPADA DESIGNS”. As such, all active Independent Silpada Designs Representatives may not list on this Web site. Any such listing will be considered a violation of the Silpada Designs Corporate Web Policy and will be subject to all remedial actions.

Hi,
I received the most beautiful pair of silver and pearl posted earrings for Christmas from my sister in law from SILPADA! I don't usually wear the same thing twice in a week as far as jewelry goes, but I cannot take these off! They are so great. I normally cannot wear posts as one ear hole is streatched, but these don't bother me at all. They are a hook design, distressed silver with a pattern and a pearl at the end. I want to know where I can get accessories without having to ask my sister in law. Help! I'm in love with you stuff! Rose

Rose, I love to help you out with any future jewelry needs you may have for Silpada! My e-mail is justbeth40@msn.com.

On Oct 3, 2005, I attended a SILPADA Designs Home Show. One of the items I purchased was a ring (R08986) as a gift which turned out to be a size too large. I returned it for a size smaller--and to date MAY 8, 2006--I have neither a new ring nor heard from anyone from SILPADA. The Home Show Independent Rep is unfortunately no longer with SILPADA. However, she did try to have someone contact me--but no one did. Please...can anyone help me? Lizz

Hello Liz,
I'm sorry about your order circumstances with Silpada. Do you have a copy of your original order for or packing slip? With that, I would contact Silpada directly at 1-888-745-7232 and tell them of the situation. I have never experienced an issue with their customer/represetative care.
I'd like to make it worthwile to try again. I have a special offer only for first time customers. email jmogck01@hotmail.com and I can send you the offer details or a link to the online catalog. Warm regards, Jennifer

Jerry

I wonder why any company would choose to opt out of the internet as a source of leads and expanded business? It seems to go against the grain of having some form of insurance for growth and prosperity in the rapidly growing economies of today -- and tomorrow.

Jerry,
Silpada is not against using the internet, in fact they have a fabulous leads system with a fantastic national advertising program. It's a company that would rather control those leads and distribute in a fair and equitable manner.

I love the Silpada products. Just found out that items bought on Ebay or as cash-and-carry could have their "lifetime warranty" VOIDED. By the way, this item was a gift.
Silpada wants to control their sales channels (which is fine) and that is one way to discourage out of channel sales.
This is the first time that I have been asked who was the original purchaser in order to make a claim to have a DEFECTIVE product exchanged. Called the company to confirm, they want to be able to track the paperwork for the original sale. Interesting discovery.....never had such an issue with Longaberger, Henn Workshops or similar direct sales organizations.
I am going to have to hunt down the original purchaser or have the defective item repaired at my expense and inconvenience.

Jerry

Peliana's experience seems to be an unreasonable one, in my opinion. How can Silpada honestly expect gift recipients to track down the seller of their jewelry? Is the company looking for some sort of insurance that they do not EVER deal with people who are purchasing or marketing their products second-hand (etc.)? I would suggest that they trust their customers a little bit more, (recognizing that a minority may be unscrupulous), and then bank on the goodwill of the people out there who appreciate good customer service.

I used to sell Silpada - I too experienced people who had breakage issues, sizes of rings that didn't fit, etc and I had to return the items at my expense and inconvenience and then check out the replacement and get the new one to the customer........ everyone wanted to keep a catalog which I had to buy.......then I heard that they didn't want to buy the same jewelry their friends did........ my time with them was short lived..........lots of it is for sale on ebay.

I am now with Taste of Home Entertaining and they are very geared for the consultants success and convenience.

Hello!
I buy Silpada from reps leaving the business or looking to update their displays. Please feel free to contact me at goneforgood@mjakdesigns.com. Thanks!

Why can't I find Silpada's compensation plan anywhere? I would like to know how they compensate for recuiting and sales. Anyone know?

If you go to thier website silpada.com. Their is info on what reps make. Basically if you are a new rep, you make 30% of the retail sale at a show. There is a lot of potential in the company to make a lot more by recruiting others as well.

Vicki

Beth,
Did you ever sell your stock of Silpada Jewelry? Just read the blog.....would be interested.

very interesting post!very informative entry...thanks for the information!

Debbie

Hi all,
I too was a Silpada Rep who had best intentions of starting a nice little home-based business so I could be home with my kids. After sticking with it despite very little support from the woman who recruited me, I "closed" my business very disillusioned. Silpada Designs is a marketing machine that lures reps in with the promise that "if Bonnie and Theresa did it so can you!" Please don't buy into it. They know what they are doing by releasing a catalog and a supplement each year and discontinuing pieces. Reps feel the pressure to buy pieces for their display if they have not "earned them" through their sales with the idea that to make money, you must first spend money. It's tough. I can also honestly say that half of my business was returns of rings that stones fell out of, leather that smelled like the horse was attached to it, and, generally, a product that really should have met more stringent review before leaving the warehouse. In the end, it's not worth it. Only the lucky that got involved early and have extensive "downlines" benefit. Now, I'm stuck with this box of Silpada jewelry that I cannot put on because I tend to disagree with everything "silpada-ish" (you Silpada reps, know what I am referencing)

Debbie
If you are leaving Silpada I would love to buy some of your inventory. Are you selling it? I am not a Silpada rep but have seen some of their items and I like them. What do you have?

Lisa

Been there done that,
Got tired of stocking inventory, booking parties, paying for my check, trying to change peoples buying habits, unit meetings....and watched my fine products being sold for less then I paid for on EBAY?..Can you relate?

Inquire ONLY if you keep your options open!

Lisa

Debbie

Hi PM -
Although I had a close-out show, I did keep my favorite items. I still have about 50 pieces and cannot even put them on because of the general feeling of discouragement that I have with the company. So there they sit. I will be posting them on EBay when I have my act in gear but I would be willing to sell them privately as well. I have the cuff bracelets, the cha-cha bracelet, the brown leather multi-corded necklace with hammered oval pendant, the red lanyard, multiple multiple earrings and rings (rings are size 8), the sterling collar, multiple pendants, the dainty silver watch with the pearl on the side, the black leather watch...the list goes on and on. Is there something in particular that you have your eye on?

I would still strongly discourage anyone from getting involved with this company as a rep (as I sit here looking at my last year with Silpada for tax purposes)...totally was not worth it.

Debbie

Hi Lisa,

I am learning that there is no fast and easy way to make money. I am an intelligent stay-at-home mom who, before kids, was in marketing for a Big 6 firm. All of these companies where you "call for a free video" and "make more money than full time employment within your first year" is all too good to be true type stuff. The only people that are graced with the cash are those at the very top who got started early and built their "downline" by roping more and more people in. So, thank you for your offer to "inquire only if you keep your options open" but businesses like yours prey on moms like me looking for the best of both worlds (being there for your kids while making some decent money). So, good luck with your "ladyexecutives". I hope it's prosperous for you.

Melisa

Hello,
After reading all the posts here, I just felt the need to put a positive spin on things. I have been with Silpada for a year and a half, and I love it! There IS a great opportunity to make good money here. But you have to work at your business. I work at it a little everyday. But it is something I love to do. It is a great tax write off as well at the end of the year. Being that your jewelry is a hard write off since it isnt stock. If you have any questions about Silpada I would love to answer them for you!

I too have been with Silpada for a little over a year. I love the jewelry and am having alot of fun with the parties. I've been able to get out of the house and meet some wonderful ladies and have made money in to process. Great fun.

I do love Silpada and have brought a number of pieces from my neighborhood rept. However, I do want to comment - it isn't a good thing that your business is a tax write off. That means you have a loss. Maybe one year of loss while you work your business is acceptable but eventually you need a profit. I personally thought about doing Silpada; however, I ran the number and realized that just to break even on my investment of jewelry, I would need to have a strong customer base buying frequently. Plus, as another poster pointed out, Silpada discontinues 1/3 of their pieces every year. So, you would have to be prepared to work through that issue. I'm not saying it can't work - but it works for those who got into the business early and have downlines built up. My neighborhood rept is actually a Silpada manager and has 20 people in her downline. So, she does well.

Jenny

i am interested in buying Silpada jewelry. Does anyone has Silpada jewelry for sale. Thanks
