Suburbia has been sitting out the dance of late, the nice girl overlooked in favour of the wild charms of the countryside and the wantonness of the inner city. Urban and rural regeneration have flourished as policymakers ignore areas we have come to regard as indelibly naff. This week, however, the think-tank Demos will launch a 'save the suburbs' campaign, seeking to revitalise pleasantville by re-embracing the traditional pastimes of the 'burbs: car-washing, Tupperware parties, communal gardens and the Women's Institute.

Tupperware Tip

When you store leftover spaghetti sauce in clear plastic (Tupperware, for example) and then microwave it, the hot tomato sauce always stains the container. Eventually all of your clear containers become a translucent pink. The solution: Before you pour in the tomato sauce, lightly cover the inside of the container with aerosol cooking spray (olive oil or butter both work), and the oil protects the plastic. Tea Leoni to be X Rated Tupperware Lady in Movie

Touchstone Pictures and Beacon Pictures will team for "Funlady," a fact-based comedy that has wife Tea Leoni attached to star. Susan Brightbill ("Hergatory", "Twice Upon a Time") will write the script on the project which marks actor/director David Duchovny's producing debut reports Variety.

Duchovny acquired the life rights of Linda Brewer, an Arkansas woman who raised her daughters by hosting passion parties and selling marital sex toys out of her car.Brewer dropped out of high school when she got married. When she found herself single and in need of a career, she attended a "passion party," the X-rated version of a Tupperware party, and became a pitchwoman for pleasure, thriving in the Bible belt.
