Chicks Who Click Invade Canada

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Chicks Who Click Logo

From PitchEngine:

06.09.2009 – Boulder, Colo. - June 8, 2009 - Chicks Who Click, a conference and networking event for women engaging in social media, is expanding internationally and will host its next conference in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Chicks Who Click is a community of like-minded women using social media to further collaborate, listen, learn and experiment with new media tools that will enhance their careers and personal networks. Conferences have sold out in Kansas City and Boulder, Colo., and are also planned for Dallas, Raleigh, N.C., and San Jose later in 2009.

The one-day conference will take place Saturday, June 26, at Listel Hotel, 1300 Robson Street. In addition, conference registration will also include a Friday night networking session, Chicks Who Mix, at the Alibi Room (157 Alexander Street) and a Saturday cocktail party.

“Chicks Who Click creates an opportunity for women to learn and collaborate in social media whether you’re just getting your toes in the water or run your own startup,” said Denise Smith, Chicks Who Click conference director.

Vancouver’s keynote speaker is Monica Guzman, the Seattle Post Intelligencer’s first online reporter and the main contributor to The Big Blog. In addition to Guzman, Chicks Who Click has 10 speakers including Rebecca Bollwitt, a renowned blogger and co-founder of sixty4media; Megan Cole and Victoria Revay, Co-Founders SPLRG; and Gillian Shaw, a journalist with The Vancouver Sun and Canwest. One of the goals of each of these conferences is to highlight local speakers along with national speakers.

This looks like a great conference for women who want to harness Social Media and Social Commerce to build their Network Marketing business.

Just How Warm Is Your Warm Market Anyway?

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

One of my latest favorite websites is Very Short List. VSL is essentially short, cool emails that deliver a nugget of fascination to your in-box each day. The diamonds in the digital rough.

Here's how they put it at VSL:

Very Short List points to excellent new (and sometimes vintage) entertainment and media that haven’t been hyped to within an inch of their lives. Each weekday, we recommend a single gem from the vast mass of films, TV shows, books, websites, music, and more. The focus is on products that deserve attention but haven’t already been subject to giant media pile-ons.

There are tons of excellent but little-known websites and Web videos out there — things you’d love to discover and watch and use but may never hear about and don’t have time to search for. VSL:WEB — one recommendation once a day — finds the entertaining nuggets and indispensable tools for you.

Here's today's email from VSL:

Friends come. Friends go. But according to a new study, the process is more turbulent than one might have imagined.

Utrecht University sociologist Gerald Mollenhorst asked 604 adults about their social lives, repeated the survey seven years later, and found that most people had replaced half of their friends over the course of that period. Moreover, only 30 percent of the subjects’ close friends remained close. Then again, given the turnover rate, how close could those friends have been in the first place?

This got me asking myself the question "Just How Warm Is Your Warm Market Anyway?"

Social Networking But Not Twitter Connects Generation Y

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Social Commerce and Social Networking From Promo Magazine:

Consumers 18 to 24 have come to embrace social networks but have yet to include Twitter in that hug, according to new research from the Participatory Marketing Network, a trade association promoting social marketing.

According to a study conducted in May on 200 Gen Y members of a PMN panel, 99% of the group said they currently have one or more active profiles on social networks such as Facebook or MySpace. But only 22% of that same group said they are actively using microblogging service Twitter.

Twitter The study was conducted by the PMN together with the Interactive and Direct Marketing lab at Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.

“Twitter dominates the news, but clearly we’re only touching the surface of its potential as a marketing vehicle,” PMN co-founder and chairman Michael Della Penna said in a release. “There is a tremendous opportunity now for marketers to develop strategies to get this important group active on Twitter too.”

Why Getting Published Can Help You Network

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Ivan Misner BNI Here's a great article by Ivan Misner, the founder and chairman of BNI. CNN calls him the "father of modern networking"

Focus on branding your company and yourself in the marketplace to enhance your networking efforts.

Recently, an associate of mine who read one of my books and attended some of my training sessions called me and said, "I really love your material, but why don't you put more emphasis on your ideas about 'creating your identity as a brand' and how it affects your networking efforts? These ideas have made a huge impact on my business, but I don't hear you talking about it very often."

I admitted that this associate of mine was right. I haven't talked a lot about identity in my material, and I agree that I should say more.

When I started my first business decades ago, I had no idea how important it was to focus on branding my company and myself in the marketplace as a way of enhancing my networking efforts. I understood the concept from an advertising and marketing perspective, but with a small business I didn't have the advertising budget to mold myself or my company into any kind of brand-at least, that's what I thought at the time. So I ignored it. I realized later that I'd made a big mistake in not pursuing any strategies to brand my identity. It wasn't until the early '90s that I started to think about branding and how it would help in my networking efforts.

Networking is all about relationships. Relationships are about establishing credibility. Credibility takes time. What I needed to do was expedite that process as much as possible while still creating genuine credibility in the marketplace at large. Not having much of a budget, I had to get creative about how I would make this happen.

I saw that if I wanted to increase my visibility and enhance my credibility in the community, I needed to be viewed as the local expert. The way I decided to start creating that brand was to begin writing articles. Now, you may say, "What's so special about that idea? I've heard people suggest it before." Well, here's the bottom line: hearing it and doing it tend to be very different things.

Xango - First To Market Category Creator: A Ty Tribble Riff On Innovation

An MLM Blog commenter recently wrote the following: "Xango was first to market with mangosteen."

Wow. Neat. Swell. Gee Whiz. Ouuuu. Ahhhh. Happy Day and All That Jazz.

Seriously, do they want a medal?  I actually credit Xango with changing the way Network Marketing companies are branded.  To me, they were first to market with real branding. That was big.  But today, Xango associates and the company are still hanging their hat on this "first to market" gibberish as the main selling point for the product and business.

Mcdonalds Well guess what?  McDonald's was not first to market with hamburgers.

Why is McDonald's number one today?

One word: Innovation.  The problem with Xango is that after their initial launch, they haven't innovated.  They continue to point to the past.

I suppose it's easy to get lazy when you get big. Think Microsoft.  When was the last time you heard about something innovative from Microsoft? Outside of the XBOX (where the innovation really came from Bungie, creators of HALO), I can't think of one thing in the last 10 years.

That's why I love what we are doing at EIRO Research.  "Research" is actually part of the name.

EIRO innovated with the first all natural whole food liquid antioxidant that is not just one fruit and it is not filled with freeze dried or extracted ingredients plus no preservatives.  The EIRO liquid antioxidant is now undergoing double blind human clinical trials. It's meaningful concentrations of 5 super fruits based on research, not 19 freeze dried and extracted fruits tossed in a wine bottle. But EIRO is not hanging their hat on one product, no matter how good it is.

EIROEnergycan In March, EIRO launched a healthy alternative to Energy Drinks...you will see this concept copied very soon!  EIRO Energy is all natural with nothing artificial or synthetic and again, no preservatives.

EIRO will once again innovate in October. (Nope, not telling what is coming... big brother at that company who begins with M and ends in Vie is watching).

And here is the kicker.  EIRO is not only innovating in the product arena, but we are also on the cutting edge of technology.  The Internet doesn't scare us. We Twitter and we Facebook.  We have an incredible online marketing system and we will soon offer associates the very first social media blogging system designed for Network Marketers.

Last Word: MLM Blog author, Ty Tribble is a founding partner at EIRO Research.  Of course he is biased, but that doesn't make him wrong. You have the ability to think for yourself and do your own research. Actually, the last word is yours. Comments are open.

MLM Traffic Formula 2 By Mike Dillard, Reviewed

By Ty Tribble, MLM Blog Founder

I know.  The headline might be a little misleading because I can't very well review something that has not launched yet.  So let me say that the day that this product becomes available, I will buy it and I don't care how much it costs.

One tip from Mike Dillard's MLM Traffic School original version made me over $50,000 last year.

So stay tuned and I will keep you posted about MLM Traffic Formula 2.

Is Working Online At Home The Next Gold Rush?

Are online jobs the next big thing? Read all about it in the Los Angeles Tribune News.

Here's an excerpt:

Are online jobs the next big thing? For Mary Steadman it sure is. Mary, a mother from San Jose, CA is thriving, in the middle of an economic recession working in the comfort of her own home.

From her website: "I get paid about $25 for every link I post on Google and I get paid every week... I make around $5500 a month right now"

Mary's story is a very familiar one in these tough times. She lost her job as an account rep for a manufacturing company and a few days later her husband also was laid off from his job as part of cutbacks due to the bad economy.

"We knew we had to do something, so we put our heads together and started trying online job opporuntities." Mary and her husband Kevin wound up getting caught up in a few quick rich business opportunities that were nothing more than pyramid schemes before finding something that really worked.

"I realized the best thing to do is instead of hoping that a company that you are looking at is going last, why not go with a big, reputable company. After looking at several different companies, I picked the safest bet... Google."

Online giant Google is a publicly traded company and is worth an estimated $100 Billion (with a b). The company has pioneered online search and has changed the way we use the internet.
