Pre-Paid Legal Celebrates 10 Years in Canada

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Hooray for Canada!

Pre-Paid Legal Scam ADA, Okla.,June 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On Saturday, June 20, Pre-Paid Legal Services, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company's launch in the Canadian market in Ontario and the subsequent growth and expansion into three additional Provinces of British Columbia (1999), Alberta and Manitoba (2001).

CEO, Founder & Chairman Harland Stonecipher will attend the day long celebration, which will include a Super Regional meeting of the company's Canadian independent sales associates, a panel program featuring the company's "Canadian Legends" and a gala banquet at the Hilton Garden Inn, 3201 Highway 7, Vaughan, Ontario L4K 5Z7.

Over the past 10 years, PPL Legal Care of Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pre-Paid Legal Services (PPL), has expanded into four Provinces, creating a strong platform for future growth in the Canadian market. PPL Legal Care of Canada currently provides coverage for approximately 25,000 families (customers). In addition, PPL's Independent Sales Associates now number approximately 11,700 in Canada. For the year 2008, PPL collected approximately $8.2 million (including foreign currency adjustments) in membership fees from the four provinces.

"This anniversary celebration recognizes a decade of achievement by leaders in the Canadian market, who through their inspiration, dedication and hard work have carried our corporate goal of 'equal justice for all' to our neighbors in Canada," Stonecipher said. "This event also represents a call to action to those Canadians who are struggling as a result of the economic recession that affects all of North America," he said. "At PPL, we are not offering a 'bail-out,' but we are providing a business opportunity for those who want to make the most of it."

Among the leaders responsible for PPL's growth in Canada are Regional Vice Presidents Rob and Charlene MacKenzie of Ontario and Ken Smith and Patti Ross of British Columbia. The Mackenzie's' have been associated with PPL since 1998 and were appointed the company's first international regional vice presidents. They helped organize the June 20, 1999 kickoff event.

The one-day conference will take place Saturday, June 26, at Listel Hotel, 1300 Robson Street. In addition, conference registration will also include a Friday night networking session, Chicks Who Mix, at the Alibi Room (157 Alexander Street) and a Saturday cocktail party.

Scheckter to Quit Racing, Become Monavie Salesman

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Tomas Scheckter This from The Other Side:

Sources at The Other Side have learned that Tomas Scheckter's big announcement tomorrow is in fact not what people are expecting.

People around the country are waiting on Tomas to announce either his part time or full time entry into the Indycar Series for the rest of 2009 with either Dreyer & Reinbold Racing or Dale Coyne Racing. However, we have learned that Mr. Scheckter will do just the opposite.

"He's done, he has found a new passion and we can't figure out why" said a source who asked to remain anonymous since nothing has been announced yet. "It is like that Monavie stuff has brainwashed him. He went into a meeting with the founder of Monavie with a Monavie Gel in hand, and walked out of the meeting a different person."

Monavie acai juice berries Tomorrow, Tomas will announce that he is taking a short hiatus from racing to pursue his new goal, being the top Monavie Salesman in North America.

Apparently, part of his deal to run the Indianapolis 500 included him becoming a key distributor and salesman of Monavie products. As you can see above, Tomas was a walking billboard for the start up company during the last week of May as he pushed Monavie on everyone.

Further evidence of his decision to leave racing for the foreseeable future hit Twitter earlier today as Tomas was advertising job openings in his distribution team through tweets.

Network Marketing Tribes And MLM Leaders

Tribes cover Seth Godin's latest book - published late last year - is called Tribes. Get a free Tribes e-book over at Seth's Blog.

Chapter titles include "The Power of Crazy", Squandering your Tribe", "Now I'm A Believer" and "Can a Fake Passion Build A Tribe".

Mr. Godin contends that technology has changed the make-up and creation of tribes allowing them to communicate and grow in new ways. And there is no tribe without a leader.

Are you ready to lead a tribe? Here are some tribe building tactics:

1. Celebrate Accomplishment

2. Be The Example

3. Lead With Passion

4. Listen Carefully

5. Be Authentic

Check out this Seth Godin video where he gets into how to build and lead your tribe.

In the MLM or Networking Marketing world leading your tribe (downline) is the key to success.

Here's an excerpt from a review in USA Today:

This time out he tackles the oft-dissected concept of leadership. But he does so with a twist. He delves into the surfacing of a new kind of leader - one who has emerged since the Internet has enabled and mobilized countless global tribes around passions ranging from global warming to politics to great restaurants.

Godin defines a tribe as a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader, and connected to an idea that inspires their passion. He argues that human beings have a need to belong, "to be part of a tribe, to contribute to (and take from) a group of like-minded people. We are drawn to leaders and to their ideas, and we can't resist the rush of belonging and the thrill of the new," he writes.

P.S. In the free e-book there's even a chapter about Joy Schultz, a Mary Kay representative.

Build Your Own Library Of MLM Books

Books I came across this cool site today while strolling around the internet over my morning coffee. if you're like many Network Marketers you've got a home office stuffed with books so this site will come in handy.

LibraryThing is the world's largest book club...and it allows you to catalog your books. Or let people know what you're reading...

It's a great place to meet people with similar tastes - connecting you with people who read what you do.

Read about LibraryThing in the .New York TImes.

Here's an excerpt:

Creating a catalog on the Web site is easy. Enter the title of one of your books, and the search engine supplies the rest of the details, like the International Standard Book Number, or ISBN, and a thumbnail image of the cover. Click again, and list the next item.

You can view or print your catalog instantly, sorted by author, for example, or by more personal tags like “books that mention Venice,” “books that touch on digital photography” or “books I’ve loaned out.” Collections can also be displayed by book covers.

Ms. Havemann, for instance, has catalogued all of the 2,956 volumes at her home, and no longer has to rely on hand-written notes or a spreadsheet. Now, as she collects new books — an unending and delightful process — she uses a portable bar-code scanner to accumulate their ISBNs, then downloads up to 500 entries at a time onto LibraryThing.

But the swift, accurate cataloguing of her books is not what she prizes most about LibraryThing.

“I love the social aspect,” she said.

Become a Networking Mentor

Bnilogo I found this article by Ivan Misner in Entrepreneur magazine...

Can you remember someone who selflessly shared his wealth of knowledge and experience with you to help you succeed? Mentors come to us disguised as parents, coaches, teachers, colleagues, supervisors and friends. Mentors share with us what they've learned to help us avoid making the same mistakes they made. They support us through our struggles with guidance and constant nurturing. They celebrate our achievements as if they were their own. They are the very embodiment of the "Givers Gain" philosophy--in other words, they are happy to give their time and effort to help others because they know that by helping others unselfishly, others will ultimately want to help them in return.

Mentors are invaluable resources for our business success. They guide us through growth, change and crisis; they help us become who we are truly meant to be. Mentors are leaders, often leading by example. Leaders move us forward. As Peter F. Drucker, the man considered the father of modern management, said, "Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations."

Ivan Misner is the founder & chairman of BNI, the world's largest business networking organization - so he knows what he's talking about...
