The New Bugs Bunny

Why does the new Bugs Bunny make me furious?

From the Seattle Times:

The WB network will take the famed Looney Tunes characters as models for a new children's series, "Loonatics," that will air on Saturday mornings starting this fall. The characters' descendants — Buzz Bunny and the like — will be superhero action figures for the cartoon set in 2772.

I am perplexed. Not because the WB decided to update Bugs and friends, but because my first reaction was anger. I like change. New cars are great, new hardwood floors replacing carpet...love it, new furniture....gotta have it, and I love to try new places to eat. But change things that I view as traditional and I go bonkers.

For 35 years, I have gone to my Aunt's house for Christmas Eve. Never missed one. Last year, I show up and she has a fake Christmas tree. I spent 34 Christmas Eve's with the same style real Christmas tree and then my Aunt decides to change to plastic. Then she asks me how I like it.

Ya know, Auntie, I can pick up a real tree and help you put it up if you want me to.
