Happy slapping is the term used to describe a fad where an unsuspecting victim (usually person on their own) is attacked by a person or group, while an accomplice video records the assault (commonly using a camera phone or smart phone). It is thought to have first become popular in South London, but it has now spread across Europe.

Now that I think about it. We used to "neck slap" each other in high school. Brilliant.
